STUDENT COUNCIL

All the regular students are part of the students’ council election. The students’ council is an elected body and the representatives of the council are dutybound to promote and encourage the involvement of the students in the plethora of activities of the college and work in the interests of the students. The students’ council provides the platform for students to develop interpersonal relationships and inculcate leadership skills. The President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer or the students’ council collectively work together for:

Bridging the gap between the college administration and the students and assist in interaction between them.

Dealing with any problems and difficulties that the students face in terms of academics, administration, infrastructural issues, finances.

Safeguarding the interests of the students and upholding their legitimate demands.

Addressing and communicating the grievances of the students to the higher authority and trying to work out a possible solution in collaboration with the college administrative body.

Looking after the welfare of the students and workingfor their interests.

Negotiating with the college administration for providing the students with better amenities and aiding them with the required facilities the council in turn enhance the college.

Taking active initiative along with the various sub committees of the collegein organizing cultural functions and events, festivals, annual ‘social’, ‘nabinbaran’, ‘farewell’, sports, various competitions.Organizing various games and tournaments, quiz competitions, debates etc. in collaboration with the concerned committees of the college.

Along withthe NSS unit the students’ council actively involve students in community work, blood donation camps, health camps,preserving our ecology, cleaning of college campus.

As students’ representative they voice the demands, opinions and grievances of the students but under all circumstances are responsible to make the college atmosphere healthy and suitable for teaching-learning process.

Must stopif there is an outbreak of any forms of campus violence. Looks after that there are no cases ofharassment of the students in any form and condemns ragging along with the college authority.

Even in case of any demonstration of protest the council must maintain mutual respect and never misbehave with the teaching faculty or non-teaching staff.

It is the council’s duty to maintain a friendly environment within the campus and adhere to the rules and regulations of the college and its affiliating university.
