CODE OF CONDUCT

AStudents’ Code of Conduct: 1.Students must be punctual and regular in attending college and be attentive, interactive and receptive in class. 2.Students are to maintain proper discipline and behaviourwithin the college campus. No cases of dispute, quarrel, physical violence amongst the students in the college premise will be tolerated by the college authority. 3.Respect to the Principal/Teacher-in- charge, teaching and non-teaching staff, Governing Body members must be maintained by the students. 4.Under no circumstances students are to discriminate amongst themselves on the basis of religion, gender, caste, creed, gender, language, physical and mental disabilities, political beliefs and perpetrate any kind of abuse or violence for the same. College campus is to remain peaceful and foster a friendly atmosphere. 5.Students must maintain honesty and integrity and refrain from any kind of violence within campus. 6.Students should maintain the required percentage for attendance as per norms of the University of Calcutta, otherwise they will be barred from taking their examinations. In cases of medical emergencies or any cases which lies behind his/her prolonged absence it must be informedto the concerned college authorities at the earliest. 7.Students are prohibited from intaking any kind of intoxicating items in the college. Intaking of drugs in any form, smoking, drinking alcohol, chewing of betel leaves, pan masala, gutkas are strictly forbidden. 8.Use of mobile phones or other electronic gadgets inside the classroom which can disrupt an ongoing class or during examinations is strictly forbidden. 9.Ragging in any form is severely condemned and any case of ragging in the college will never be tolerated by the college authority under any circumstances. Strict action will be taken against the guilty ranging from expulsion to legal action. Acts of ragging are highly punishable offences. Anti-Ragging awareness campaign, seminars and webinars are conducted by the Anti Ragging Cell and Internal Complaint Committee of the college to make the students realise their duties and responsibilities against Ragging. The students are to join hands with the college administrative body to make the institution a ragging free zone. 10.As an integral part of college, the students bear the responsibility to keep the college campus clean. Use of plastic is strictly forbidden and proper disposal of garbage in the bins is mandatory. Students must keep the campus free of plastics. 11.Conserving the ecology is one of the chief aims of the college, as such the students must take every measure to preserve the plants and trees in the college campus. Watering, fencing and preserving the plants are to be done by students and this forms a core component of the NSS programme. 12.Damage to college property will be strictly dealt with. Students should take proper care of the college property and never indulge in any activity which might cause damage. 13.Acts of cheating or use of any unfair means during examination and misconduct or misbehaviour for the same is subject to punishment. 14.Misbehaviour and creating unnecessary nuisance at the time of student body elections or during any seminar, sports, cultural functions, or any event and activity of the Institution will not be tolerated. 15.Students should park their vehicles in the parking zone of the college and not elsewhere within the campus. 16.Rash driving within and even outside the campus is prohibited to avoid accidents or any kind of mishaps. The college try to ensure safety and security of all within its boundaries. 17.Students should never be involved in or associated with theft, robbery, drug peddling, human trafficking and other anti-social activities. If they are found to be guilty of the same then the college will take legal actions and severe steps in cancelling his/her admission. 18.Possession of any armed weapons and explosives and bringing them to college by the students is strictly forbidden. 19.Students must maintain respect, honesty, ethics, morality and tolerance to others and try to be humane to imbibe the motto of the college, ‘Educate, Enlighten, Enliven,Empower.’
